Kim Keat Beacon and Admiralty Place featured in The Straits Times

2 HDB architectural projects by Kyoob Architect which won the HDB Awards 2024 recently were featured in The Straits Times this November.

Kim Keat Beacon has won two prestigious HDB Awards for both design and construction excellence. The project comprises 542 flats across three residential blocks and stands out as a landmark at the edge of Toa Payoh with its distinctive façade. The facade colours were segmented to create striking visual interest. Cascading terraces were designed as part of the multi-storey car park to reduce the building's visual mass, with pockets of green spaces for residents readily available along these steps. A key design feature is the communal balcony found at the lift lobby of every storey of the residential blocks, inspired by traditional corridors where residents used to gather and interact with one another, hence foster stronger community bonds.

In addition, Admiralty Place has also been recognized for its design excellence, winning the Design Award under the rejuvenation category. This rejuvenation project aimed at revitalising the area with a focus on integrating greenery and landscape elements. By incorporating lush greenery and thoughtful landscaping, the project aims to transform the space into a vibrant hub of retail and food and beverage offerings. Admiralty Place's transformation is all about breathing new life and fostering community bonds in a space belonging to the community. At dusk, the brilliantly illuminated facade seamlessly blends with the lively atmosphere of Admiralty Place, enhancing the ambiance and adding a touch of enchantment to the bustling activities.
